  • Overview of the different activities available for visitors: Visitors to the Cuyabeno Reserve can participate in various activities such as hiking, bird watching, wildlife watching, and canoeing. Visitors can explore the reserve on foot or by canoe, visiting different habitats and observing a wide variety of plants and animals. The reserve also offers many opportunities for visitors to see a wide variety of plants and animals up close, including many rare and endangered species. Some operators also provides visits to indigenous communities and their way of living.
  • Information on the best time to visit: The best time to visit the reserve is during the dry season, which runs from June to September. During this time, the waters of the rivers and lagoons are lower, making it easier to navigate and see wildlife. The rainy season could make it difficult to navigate, and also, the visibility of animals and plants may be lower.
  • Information on necessary permits or reservations: Visitors are required to obtain a permit from the Ministry of the Environment before entering the reserve. These permits can be obtained through tour operators or at the Ministry's offices in Quito or Lago Agrio. There's a maximum limit of visitors allowed per day as well to ensure the preservation of the reserve. It's also recommended to book in advance specially during the high season.
