Amazon Itineraries

4 Days & 3 Nights
  • DAY 1: The Yasuní adventure starts in Quito where you will take a flight to Coca. From there you will be transferred to the port La Misión to the Kichwa Añangu community. During this unforgettable trip you some birds will accompany your way: Martin Pescador, beach terns and other species, which stand on the banks and small islands located in the Napo River. On your arrival to the Napo Cultural Center, one of the most diverse places in the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador, you will be kindly welcomed with tasty refreshing drinks and snacks and a short intro talk about the Kichwa culture. Then, you will be guided to your room where you can relax. Then, by late afternoon you can join a pleasant walk towards the Napo River where we you will probably see a magnificent sunset -depending on the time-. Back to the lodge you will have a delicious dinner and enjoy an outstanding starry sky.
  • DAY 2: The day starts with a nice breakfast to then visit the beautiful parrot clay licks, where you will have the opportunity to see more than 11 species of parrots, parakeets, and scarlet macaws. After that, you will visit the Interpretative Centre “Kuri Muyu” where you can enjoy a presentation about the traditions and culture of the community and ancient practices such as hunting and fishing. After the visit, you will be back to the hotel to have a great lunch and a little rest until the next activity. Before sunset, you will have the opportunity to explore the sewer pipes (Igapo) along the Guangara or Kuri Muyo trail where you will probably see alligators resting on the banks of the Rio Napo. Then, back to the hotel, a delicious dinner with the most representative and typical Ecuadorian food awaits you.
  • DAY 3: After having an energetic breakfast you will visit the community projects and learn more about the Kichwa worldview and preparation of natural medicines made from plants found in the jungle. After that, you will appreciate the outstanding landscapes and flora along the Mama Cuna (Samona) trail. There you will find ceibo’s centenarians, matapalos, bamboo cane, vines and shrubs endemic Yasuni. After this pleasant excursion, you will go back to the Yasuni Ecolodge and have a nice dinner with local food.
  • DAY 4: (Optional) You can choose to get up at 4am to experience a memorable morning of Kichwa traditions. The ritual starts with the Wayusa, a special drink to energize your body and mind. After that, listen to their songs in their native language and then continue with meditation exercises to vitalize the soul and interpretation of your dreams. After this cultural activity, you will have a farewell breakfast and take you baggage, a canoe awaits for you to take you back to Coca city.

5 Days & 4 Nights
  • DAY 1: A flight from Quito will take you to Coca city. The hotel staff members will assist you and take you to the Orellana port where you will embark in a motorized canoe to take you to the Añangu community between 11:30 and 12:30. You will be surprised to see the great diversity of birds that live in the Amazon: playeros terns, kingfishers, among other beautiful species that roam the natural islands and banks of the River Napo. After a two hours trip you will get to the Napo Cultural Center where you will be welcomed with drinks and snacks. There you will have the opportunity to learn about the culture that holds the place. After that, you will be taken to your comfortable room. In the afternoon, you will take a short walk to explore the Napo River and delight yourself with a beautiful sunset. Then, back to the lodge, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and a comfortable rest.
  • DAY 2: On this second day you will have a nice breakfast early in the morning and then go on a magnificent ride to the parrot clay clicks where you will see more than 11 species of parakeets and parrots that live there. Enjoy the most beautiful wildlife and scarlet macaws that adorn the sky. Later, back to the hotel, you will enjoy a cultural afternoon learning from the local culture and how they built this community-based tourism project, “the beautiful house”. This presentation will be held in the Interpretative Centre “Kuri Muyu” by women of the community. After an educational afternoon you will rest in the Eco-lodge and have a nice meal. And for this day to be unforgettable, late in the afternoon you will explore the famous sewer pipes (Igapo) between the path Guangara or Kuri Muyo where exotic caimans lie on the banks of the River Napo. When returning back to the Yasuní Ecolodge you will be welcomed with a we expect a reconfortadle meal and a beautiful landscape in the background with the best Amazon sunset you can see.
  • DAY 3: On this day, you will have a healthy breakfast before going on a short excursion to visit the community projects of the Kichwa Añangu community and learn about the Kichwa worldview and how they use different plants found in the jungle as a medicine. After that, walk along the trail Mama Cuna (samona) to get closer to the impressive flora of this place, including: matapalos, bamboo cane, ancient ceibos, vines and shrubs endemic Yasuni. And before stars fall down, you will be back to the lodge to have a delicious Ecuadorian local food dinner.
  • DAY 4: You will get closer to the Amazon Rainforest wildlife visiting the observation tower, a platform of more than 35m high, that provides you a 360° view of the jungle. There you will see a great variety of animals such as: toucans, Te acercaremos más a la vida selvática con la visita a la torre de observación con 35m de altura para admirar variedad de aves como: like toucans, parrots, among other beautiful birds and howler monkeys, sloths, among manu other animals that inhabit the jungle.
  • DAY 5: Enjoy a morning full of energy and vitality in the “beautiful house” joining a Kichwa ritual that starts at 4 am with the “Wayusa” an energy drink, and listening to different songs in their native, meditation exercises and interpretation of dreams.
